Jin Shangyi, born in December 1934 in Jiaozuo, Henan Province, was admitted to the painting Department of Beiping National Art College in 1949. In 1959, the Museum of the Chinese Revolution ordered “Farewell”; Chinese contemporary oil painting artist and educator, his main works include “Tajik Bride”, “Young female singer”, “Huang Binhong in his old age”, “Eight Mountain People” and so on. In 2013, he was elected as a member of the Standing Committee of the 12th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. In 2018, he was appointed the ninth honorary chairman of the Chinese Artists Association.
